The House of Representatives on December 6th passed by voice vote an amended bill (HR 1021) that would allow several temporary bankruptcy judgeships to be refilled if there is a vacancy in the next five years. The Senate Judiciary Committee will take up its version of the bill (S. 1821) on Thursday, December 8th. It is expected that the Committee will approve the bill and it will go to the Senate floor before Congress leaves for a holiday recess. For more information on the legislation,
